#34 Philippians 1:6&11 NLT

Philippians 1:6&11 NLT

I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation – the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ – for this will bring much glory and praise to God.

1/2/07-1/4/07

We can be fully certain that the almighty God who began His work, at the moment we became His, to conform us to the likeness of Christ, will continue working until the work is complete. He is not like we are, having limitations on our ability and a tendency to lose interest. The work He does in us is His firm will for us and when God acts, who can hinder? (Job 42:2 ?) His work in our hearts will be complete when we see Him face to face, for in that moment we will become like Him for we will see Him as He is (1 John 3:2). His final work will be when He raises our mortal body, immortal, imperishable, incorruptible (1 Corinthians 15:53-54). Then we will truly be all that He intended us to be. Let us pray, “Father, thank You that You continue to work in us even though we would give up. Thank You for the certainty that one day Your work will be complete and we will stand before You without a single fault (Col. 1:22). Work in us to produce the fruit of our salvation; a holy life, a righteous character, and good deeds – that we may bring praise and glory to You. Keep the promise of Christ likeness and perfection in You ever before us – that not looking back to what we have been and left behind, we would press toward the prize. Amen.”
